- Pre-existing conditions
- Diagnosis, medical management, or surgical correction of patella luxation or hip dysplasia
- Diagnosis, medical management, or surgical correction of cruciate ligament damage or rupture to include treatment for the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial cruciate ligament (MCL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and cranial cruciate ligament (CCL)
- During the first 6 calendar months in which your policy is in effect, no coverage will be extended for the diagnosis, medical management or surgical correction of intervertebral disc(s) regardless of the procuring cause
- Treatment of periodontal disease
- Elective procedures, cosmetic surgeries, including but not limited to tail docking, dewclaws, skin folds, nail trims, and cropping of ears
- Expression or removal of anal glands or anal sacculitis
- Breeding or conditions relating to breeding (Activate the Breeder's rider to cover emergency C-sections, infection, eclampsia, and mastitis as it relates to breeding)
- Special diets, pet foods, vitamins, mineral supplements, grooming costs and bathing, including medicated baths (Add the Prescription Food rider to cover special diets and pet foods)
- Treatment of external parasites such as fleas, lice and ticks and preventable internal parasites such as heartworms, hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms and whipworms
- Orthodontics, endodontics and removal of deciduous teeth
- Time and travel expenses to the veterinarian's premises or hospital
- Illness or injury which arises out of racing, coursing, commercial guarding or organized fighting of your pet
- Congenital or hereditary defects or diseases (Add the Hereditary/Chronic/Congenital 25% or 100% rider to cover this exclusion)
- Continuous coverage of chronic and long term conditions that manifest in a previous policy year (Add the Hereditary/Chronic/Congenital 25% or 100% rider to cover this exclusion)
- Behavioral problems training or therapy (Activate a Basic, Preferred or Preferred PLUS plan to cover behavior training)
- Routine examinations, routine tests or screens, vaccines, teeth cleaning or polishing (Activate a Basic, Preferred, or Preferred PLUS plan to cover some or all of these expenses)
- Preventive treatments and diagnostics for, or conditions relating to, preventable parasites, including heartworm (Activate a Basic, Preferred, or Preferred PLUS plan to cover heartworm and flea prevention)
- Spaying/Neutering (activate a Preferred or Preferred PLUS plan to cover a spay or neuter)
- Treatment of foreign body ingestion occurring more than once per policy period
- Treatment for illnesses is not covered by the Accident-Only plan
