Bacteria and yeast cause most ear infections in adult dogs and ear mites are the most common cause in puppies. In severe cases some dogs will suffer from chronic ear infections that require surgical correction.

Treatment includes daily cleaning, antibiotics, anti-yeast or anti-inflammatory depending on the type of infection and severity.
