Interdigital Cysts in Dogs
Also referred to as Interdigital Furuncles are painful nodular lesions (cysts) that form between the toes. The most common cause is a deep bacterial infection. Many dog breeds including Chinese Shar-Pei’s, Labrador Retrievers and English Bulldogs are predisposed to bacterial interdigital furunculosis because of the short bristly hairs located on the webbing between the toes, prominent interdigital webbing, or both.
These cysts are treated with topical treatments, antibiotics and in extreme cases could require surgery to remove the cysts. Veterinary surgery can cost thousands of dollars. Make sure you can afford treatment when your dog needs it the most.
Cost to Treat: $200 to $1,000
