Ichthyosis in Dogs
Ichthyosis is a rare hereditary disease that affects the skin and eyes of Golden Retriever dogs dogs. Diagnosis for ichthyosis is made by a skin biopsy. Unfortunately there is no cure for ichthyosis and it is a particularly difficult and time-consuming condition to treat.
Because ichthyosis can’t be cured it must be controlled through medications and other treatments including medicated shampoos, moisturizers and retinoid have also been found to be affective.
